So, I made this cause I felt like writing about myself, but its most likely going to be a very temporary habit if any at all. I kinda hope no one reads this, cause this blog has no true subject and my life isn't as interesting as I like to think it is.
So, I was thinking about sophisticated people today and I realized how awesome I am that I don't need to read a bunch of long ass books to recite lots of way more interesting crap to friends.
I have this theory that people who read long ass books tend to be just as boring as people who sit around smoking weed and watching "How it's Made" all day but it's just that the book people tend to sound a little smarter.
Maybe I'm just incredibly jealous because I would give my left nut (if I had one to give) to be able to read slow ass books without getting distracted by my own brain. Maybe ADD is a favorable mutation that says "HEY, this is B-O-R-I-N-G, thinking about that funny cat video is more interesting than rereading the same sentence 5 times over. go and think with your brain and never let this book think for you, it'll make you slow and long winded."
Luckily for me I have the handy Internet to extract all the really interesting shit out of books and condense it in a humorous article. True story; Cracked.com is my favorite of these interesting sites, and I greatly respect dropping knowledge-about-something-interesting bombs on people who think I'm just your average nerd/girl/ditz/person.
When it comes to knowledge I love having it I just don't agree with the traditional method of acquiring it. I don't understand how someone can write a 1500 page book about one principle and honestly I believe that many times it is filled with lots of fluff to make the author seem knowledgeable about his/her information. Sometimes there can be too much information on something, the Internet helps me skip past fluff and choose to read it if I really want to learn more.
If we kept things straight to the point people would actually get to think about it further on their own. Furthermore, the essential key points of a book wouldn't be diluted in a bunch of fluff.

for instance "The Secret". Come on, its a good idea, a GREAT idea in fact! But a 90 minute glorified infomercial telling you that all you have to do is think positive about everything and good things will happen seems overdone.
Am I the only one who thinks this? Maybe I'm over-embracing Internet culture, but for me it's better to get the point of something and think about it in my own time. I think people need to try that more often, cause it feels good to make your own points about things.
Ok so for anyone who found this blog and is reading in outrage lemme just say that my opinions are not all encompassing and that I don't judge a book reader by their cover. I'm not angry or bitter its just a thought I was thinking about from various experiences with people who enjoy reciting from books they've read who have absolutely no knowledge of their own to offer. Sometimes it seems they didn't even learn anything from what they read, they just know the information.
Also, when I can, I LOVE reading! so maybe I am just angry and bitter that people who have the capacity to read books rape it by not taking anything from it and just trying to sound smart. Whenever I do read anything I tend to get excited about what it means (when its profound) and usually stop reading because I can't concentrate anymore.
So now that you've read this far how much interest do you have in me writing anymore? Exactly. I've made my point, and I could go on and on and on about it but I could also just end this blog post and let you form your own opinions and ideas. hmmm....what more could I say??
I also HATE long paragraphs! when I do read its very likely for school, and if thats the case then highlighting is essential for me to be able to read. Then I can know I read everything before that sentence and I also extract the most important information from the book.
I have a fascination with anything interesting. This may seem weird but its very straightforward: A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G I-N-T-E-R-E-S-T-I-N-G. Psychology, Media, Geography, Biology, Politics, Literature, Science, Technology, Comedy, Art, people, talents, anomalies, conspiracies, even math!
The only catch is that it can't be boring can't be mundane and cannot be average! There are a lot of "locally interesting" things as I like to call them that are interesting if you happen upon them on the street but not overall if someone sent a picture or video from youtube. You know, like a really cute puppy rolling on the ground, or some artist carving pretty decent portraits out of pumpkins. Those kinda things are fun to see in person but I'm not gonna be reading more about them or thinking about them after they've occured.
I mean interesting like an old chinese lady growing horns, a scientific breakthrough, some crazy fact about human nature, or even a crazy talented artist.
I'm really an interesting connoisseur; I think interesting things represent a lot of important virtues: talent, genius, originality, making history, and discovery. I know there are a whole lot of talented, genuis, and original people out there making uninteresting discoveries about plankton or whatnot but interesting things are like a highlighter compared to a yellow marker.
I mean which one would you read about more, an article solving one of the biggest mysteries in history or an article about the discovery of a new but completely useless element? I like things that make you think, things that make you want to know more, after all, who doesn't?
Most books I've seen don't really have interesting subject matter they just have a lot of it. ok wow it is a lot harder than I thought to fluff up my point.
The most interesting books I've read are always animal books and they actually keep me wanting more because they only have 2 pages full of pictures about the animals. These were animal books for kids but they really were fascinating! I remember reading my insect book over and over again...though I think I was too young to even read it.
Sometimes I wonder if I learned to read way earlier than I was supposed to. When I was a kid I had insomnia so I would open up all my little kid books and read them until I fell asleep. This seemed like a perfectly normal memory but I remembered doing it before I even learned to read...at least I think I did. Who knows? But my reading skills were definitely much further along as a kid than anyone else's. This slowly deteriorated as my ADD ruined my brain.
ok...well I think you all get the point, this has stopped being interesting long long ago, and my main point is lost in obscure mini-points and stories. I know I'm truthfully doing a terrible job looking like I know what I'm talking about but luckily for me no one will read this anyway so I won't be textually destroyed by pissed off "readers".
